90% of the exhibition space for the inaugural Printing United show in Dallas in October has now been booked according to event partners the SGIA and Napco Media. More than 500 companies are now signed up to the event.

Agfa marketing manager Steve Collins has joined authorised partner Josero as director of sales and marketing. He will be responsible for the new equipment sales division (via direct and indirect channels) as well as taking the lead on all promotional activity, including marketing management.

The Print Trailblazer Consortium has submitted the assessment plan for the print trailblazer employer-defined standard for apprenticeship programmes to the Institute for Apprenticeships (IfA), part of the Department for Education - the final stage in securing approval from Government to start the delivery of the new programmes.

Simon Cooper - who has held long-term executive roles at Cimpress subsidiaries Tradeprint and Exaprint - takes on the mantle as founders Aron Priest and Andy Smith move on. Priest will continue to act as an advisor, while Smith leaves to concentrate on new entrepreneurial projects.

Ricoh UK will use Sign and Digital UK 2019 (2-4 April, NEC Birmingham) to showcase its new Ricoh Pro L5130/5160 latex printers, new Ricoh Pro TF6250 UV flatbed, and new Ricoh Ri 1000 mid-range direct-to-garment printer.

As exclusive UK and Irish Mimaki distributor, Hybrid Services will show a new clear option for the UCJV300 Series LED UV printer/cutters at Sign and Digital UK (2-4 April, NEC Birmingham). The event will also see the UK debut of the Mimaki TS55 1.9m wide dye-sub printer, and the recently announced metallic LED UV ink will be on show for the first time on a Mimaki UJF-7151plus.

IMI Europe has announced new events for 2019 and the return to the “home of inkjet” - Cambridge - for its Summer School.

Craig Tiley, director of Signs Express (Stoke) has won the Signs Express Franchisee of the Year award for 2018, making it a hat trick for the operation, which also won Best Interior Sign and Best Sign Project.
