Hidetoshi Shinada has been appointed chairperson of photonic printing solutions company DataLase, to drive collaboration and integration with the Sato Group, his previous company. Shinada is well known in the print sector, having held a number of roles within Fujifilm for more than 30 years.

A show feature called the ‘Colour L*A*B*’ has been developed for Fespa Global Print Expo 2019 (Messe Munich, 14 - 17 May). It is a technology showcase and conference programme designed to help PSPs improve their colour management practices.

New from Canon UK is the Oce Arizona 1300 flatbed printer series for PSPs producing up to 15,000m2/yr. The range - the first Oce flatbed products to feature LED curing - offer printing speeds up to 52.8m2/hr.

3M’s Print Wrap Film Series IJ180mC has been sanctioned for 3D applications. The films all have initial tack, non-visible Comply adhesive and easy liner release for faster installs to recesses, curved surfaces, corrugations and rivets, without snapping back.

Fespa China will return this year after a four-year hiatus. It will take place 8 - 10 November 2019 at the Canton Fair Complex, Guangzhou, China, where it will be co-located with ISLE Autumn (International Signs and LED Exhibition).

Graphtec GB has appointed Tom Kneale as a director. He is taking over many of the responsibilities held by managing director Phil Kneale, including financial and legal management. Neil Roberts assumes the role of general manager.

Caldera has launched CalderaDock version 1.2.0, a new toolbox management app for users of its workflow software. The CalderaDock module - accessible via the main V12 interface - aims to bridge the gap between tools in the Caldera ecosystem and remote resources.
