Mattias Bystrom will replace Udo Panenka as president of Esko on 1 January 2019. The latter is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities.

After more than 14 years as centre manager at the Signs Express (Taunton) franchise, Richard Frayling has taken ownership of the business following Maurice Firman’s decision to sell up, and has plans to extend the operation.

Print industry newcomer Paul Glover is the new owner of Signs Express (Nottingham). Glover, who bought the business from founders Jane and Adam Bailey, has previously run businesses in waste management and recycling.

At the recent Two Sides annual meeting of country managers, representatives from Europe, North America, South America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand determined to continue efforts to stop organisations making misleading anti-print and paper messages in their customer communications.

Ricoh is buying ColorGate. Acquisition of the print software firm is scheduled for completion on 30 November. The move continues the ‘Ricoh Ignite’ growth plan set out in February this year and designed to expand the company’s printing technology portfolio. This acquisition is designed to strengthen Ricoh’s growing industrial printing business and comes on the back of Ricoh’s recent acquisition of LAC Corporation, a company with inkjet technology that supports printing on 3D surfaces.

Metamark (UK) has appointed Shaun Hobson to the newly created role of vice president international sales. He will report to CEO Paul French, and will spearhead investment in Metamark’s international business. 

A reminder that Zund UK will host open days at its demonstration suite in St Albans this coming Wednesday and Thursday (14/15 November).

The Fawcett Society has announced that Equal Pay Day was on Saturday, 10 November this year. It marks the date when women across the UK received their 'last payslip' of the year and started 'working for free' when compared to male salaries on a like-for-like basis. Equal Pay Day fell on 10 November in both 2016 and 2017, suggesting that the gender pay gap is not closing.
