MS Printing Solution’s new Impres soft signage printer will come bundled with Caldera’s GrandRip+. Designed as an all-in-one engine for the production of increasingly textile display applications, believes the new system – which uses water-based dye-sublimation inks formulated by the JK Group - will address the market for lightweight, recyclable POP advertising, backlits, flags, banners, and exhibition and stadium graphics.

Jon Millership has joined Wrights Plastics’ estimating team at West Bromwich. His experience in POS and large-format is expected to play a key role for the company, which via investment in people and machinery has expanded its print arm with more large-format and digital print services.

Following success at Digital Print Europe in Barcelona in September, IMI Europe is returning to Tokyo for Digital Print Japan, and is then running an expanded Inkjet Winter Workshop series of courses in Valencia in January 2018. The organisation will also be holding its regular Inkjet Summer School event in Ghent, Belgium from 11-15 June 2018, and an Inkjet Ink Development Conference in spring 2018 at a date and location still to be decided.

EFI has acquired Escada Systems, a provider of corrugator control systems for the packaging market. The move “makes EFI a one stop shop for enabling packaging companies to improve the quality, efficiency and profitability of the corrugation process, using their existing corrugators," said Gabriel Matsliach, senior vice president and general manager, EFI Productivity Software.

Huddersfield-based Leach - which is targeting a 25% increase in fabric graphic production over the next 12 months - has been chosen by Belgian-owned modular exhibition stand specialist beMatrix as its preferred fabric graphics production partner for the UK.

Ricoh’s first UV flatbed printer has been unveiled. The Ricoh Pro T7210, said to be optimised for industrial decoration printing, uses Ricoh’s proprietary image processing technology as well as 12 Ricoh MH54 series printheads. The 2.1 × 3.2m flatbed can print materials up to 110mm thick. It prints up to 50m2/hr (standard mode) or 100m2/hr (high speed mode).

Antalis has launched a printable, self-adhesive wallcover fabric developed to allow for damage free removal and repositioning. The new Coala Silky Wallcover Textile is a PVC-free, woven material that has a blockout layer to ensure existing graphics do not show through – making it useful as a covering for hard-to-remove graphics.
