Fespa UK is hosting an industry forum at the Ritz hotel in London on 12 September, 2 - 10pm. The intention is to provide practical recommendations and assistance to help drive PSPs' profitability, and will cover initiatives can attract 50% government funding.

Newcastle-upon-Tyne-based Your Print Specialists (YPS) has become an approved dealer for Roland DG in the north of England, with a focus on sales of the TrueVis VG and SG machines. It will hold an open day at its offices on Wednesday 8 November to demonstrate Roland’s print and cut technology.

Zund has introduced a laser module for the sign and display market - the LM 100W - which cuts polyester fabrics and seals the edges at the same time. The company said it takes one operator a matter of minutes to convert a Zund cutter to a full-blown laser-cutting system with the module, and that it’s just as easy to reconfigure the cutter for the next application.

Preston-based family PSP Palmer Publicity Services (PPS) has taken on two new starters to grow the business and expand its services. Katie Palmer returns to the company as sales director and Jamie Naylor has joined as a website designer.

Signs Express has opened a centre in Scarborough, a franchise territory in which the company has never before been represented. The new centre, based on the Eastfield Industrial Estate, is owned and operated by Edith and David Lloyd. It is home to wide-format kit and has a purpose-built, temperature controlled vehicle bay.

Amazon Filters has introduced the SuperPleat Plus Ink filter range for all printhead technologies. They are of a hybrid design that combines high depth melt blown media and pleated filter technology to ensure that small microgels and agglomerates are effectively removed while maintaining high flow rates and capacity.

X-Rite and its subsidiary Pantone LLC have joined forces with ColorPartner, a German company, to help automate colour management for industrial inkjet applications. The new offering combines the ColorPartner ColorScout A+ automated colour measurement table and X-Rite’s Ci6x family of sphere spectrophotometers to enable printers to better measure colour on metallic, wood, plastic, ceramic and textured materials. The new Ci6X/ColorScout A+ solution will be made available through a variety of Rip manufacturers that support industrial inkjet output devices.

IMI Europe has released more detail on its Digital Printing Conference 2017, due to take place in Barcelona on 20 - 21 September with the theme ‘Vision 2020’.

Hybrid Services has taken delivery of Mimaki’s latest dye-sublimation offering - the TS30-1300 1.3m printer which was launched at Fespa 2017. It is now being demonstrated running neon inks at Hybrid’s Cheshire showroom.

Essex-based Imaginators is predicting at least a 20% hike in turnover within a year following the installation of a semi-automated 5m wide Durst Rho 512R bought with funding from HSBC. The new printer, which joins existing Durst kit at the large-format PSP, prints at resolutions of up to 800dpi and at speeds up to 350m2/hour at 5m wide. Matt Tydeman, founder and director of Imaginators expects it to open opportunities with new clients.

PSPs that are not located in one of Fespa’s 37 association countries can now join Fespa as a direct member with the launch of Fespa Direct.

Landa has appointed Dafna Gruber as CFO of Landa Digital Printing. Dafna comes to Landa with over 20 years of a successful track record in the financial and operational management of global public hi-tech companies. Over the past two years Gruber served as CFO of Clal Industries. Prior to that, she served as CFO and head of operations at Nice for over eight years, and as Alvarion's CFO for 11 years.
