X-Rite and its subsidiary Pantone LLC have joined forces with ColorPartner, a German company, to help automate colour management for industrial inkjet applications. The new offering combines the ColorPartner ColorScout A+ automated colour measurement table and X-Rite’s Ci6x family of sphere spectrophotometers to enable printers to better measure colour on metallic, wood, plastic, ceramic and textured materials. The new Ci6X/ColorScout A+ solution will be made available through a variety of Rip manufacturers that support industrial inkjet output devices.

IMI Europe has released more detail on its Digital Printing Conference 2017, due to take place in Barcelona on 20 - 21 September with the theme ‘Vision 2020’.

Hybrid Services has taken delivery of Mimaki’s latest dye-sublimation offering - the TS30-1300 1.3m printer which was launched at Fespa 2017. It is now being demonstrated running neon inks at Hybrid’s Cheshire showroom.

Essex-based Imaginators is predicting at least a 20% hike in turnover within a year following the installation of a semi-automated 5m wide Durst Rho 512R bought with funding from HSBC. The new printer, which joins existing Durst kit at the large-format PSP, prints at resolutions of up to 800dpi and at speeds up to 350m2/hour at 5m wide. Matt Tydeman, founder and director of Imaginators expects it to open opportunities with new clients.

PSPs that are not located in one of Fespa’s 37 association countries can now join Fespa as a direct member with the launch of Fespa Direct.

Landa has appointed Dafna Gruber as CFO of Landa Digital Printing. Dafna comes to Landa with over 20 years of a successful track record in the financial and operational management of global public hi-tech companies. Over the past two years Gruber served as CFO of Clal Industries. Prior to that, she served as CFO and head of operations at Nice for over eight years, and as Alvarion's CFO for 11 years.

ProCo has installed the first Agfa Jeti Tauro H2500 LED as part of a £400k investment in its large-format capability. The wider upgrade also includes an Agfa Anapurna RTR3200i, Crest BSC3200 X-Y cutting system, Cronos Ultimate sewing station and a Bobis roller application table.

New from Fujifilm is the Acuity 15 UV flatbed printer designed for light production. Able to print on rigid and flexible media up to 50.8mm thick, it has a top print speed of 23m2/hr.

Following its acquisition by Zund Systemtechnik earlier this year, St Albans-based Zund Plotting Systems (UK) has officially changed its name to Zund UK. The company is also undergoing refurbishment to create a larger dedicated demonstration centre that will house new Zund machines fitted with over-cutter cameras and laser modules as unveiled at Fespa 2017. Zund UK plans to hold a number of open house events next year, introducing more people to the expanded range.

3A Composites announced the successful acquisition of Athlone Extrusions Ltd. by its parent company Schweiter Technologies. Athlone Extrusions is based in Athlone, Ireland and is one of the leading manufacturers of coloured opaque multilayer plastic sheeting in Europe. The plastic sheets are primarily used by thermoformers who manufacture parts for the automotive industry (low series recreational, agriculture, and construction vehicles), sanitary ware industry (shower trays, bath panels), office equipment, point of sale and furniture industries.
