A new line of LED curing UV large-format printers will be shown by swissQprint at at Fespa 2017- with two different flatbed sizes and two productivity levels. The Swiss manufacturer states that they have refined the mechanical basis of its existing printers for greater precision, but it is keeping other detail under wraps until the event next month.

New from SAi is +EnRoute for Flexi - an add-on to Flexi version 11 and 12 - for faster and easier output of Flexi-designed 2D signage to CNC machines.

At Fespa 2017 Mutoh will première a new flex LED UV inkset (CMYK, white and varnish) that has been developed to extend the application capabilities of its ValueJet hybrid LED UV printers. The company will also show new printers, including the recently announced 64in-wide ValueJet 1604WX dye-sublimation printer, and a 75in-wide ValueJet 1948WX high-speed sublimation printer. The new ValueJet VJ-626UF six-colour A2-size flatbed LED UV printer will also be shown. 

Industry stalwarts Ben Moss and Rob Kelly have invested in StackaWraps – a Stockport-based company that provides large-scale 3D versions of products for marketing purposes.

Among new products and services being introduced by Durst at Fespa 2017 will be a standalone kiosk system equipped with 120 degree camera technology, that at the show will be integrated into a textile workflow process in order to demonstrate new design and product variations. Details are being kept under wraps until the event, where the company will also show new machine analytics, service options and developments to the P10 series of printers with the Rho P10 250 HS Plus, alongside the new Rho 512R Plus, 3.2m Rhotex 325 for soft signage, and Rho WT 250 flatbed incorporating Durst’s Water Technology. 

Hybrid Software is joining The Ghent Workgroup thereby committing to supporting and incorporating the GWG specifications into its offerings.

J-Teck3 has a new series of digital textile water-based pigment inks for machines using Epson and Kyocera printheads. The J-Tex Pigment Textile inks will be introduced at Fespa 2017. The J-Tex P-E has been developed for use with Epson printheads, and J-Tex P-K for use with Kyocera heads.

Spandex is now supplying Arlon’s new SLX Cast Wrap with Flite technology - a contact system that allows the substrate to float over a surface until firm pressure is applied.

Fespa 2017 will see Kiian Digital introduce Digistar Bravo, a disperse digital inkset for direct printing on machines fitted with Kyocera printheads. The range comprises 11 colours, including two blacks. 

At ISA International Sign Expo 2017 in Las Vegas later this month Agfa Graphics will introduce the Avinci DX3200 dye-sublimation printer designed to deliver soft signage up to 3.2m wide, at a resolution of up to 1440 x 540dpi. The 6-colour (CMYKLcLm) machine offers different quality modes, with speeds up to 173m2/h, and is said to be compatible with most off-line calendering solutions. 

Cork-based Walsh Graphics will open a Dublin branch on Wednesday 26 April.

The new CorelDraw Graphics Suite 2017 incorporates LiveSketch whereby hand-drawn strokes are intelligently interpreted, adjusted, and combined with existing vector curves. The software also has new workflow enhancements, plus support for stylus and touch-enabled devices, the Microsoft Surface Dial, and Ultra HD 5K monitors.

Offered in 54in and 60in-wide rolls, the new product combines slideability and initial tack to allow installers to move the film easily across the surface.
