A new ImagePerfect Materials Guide has been introduced by Spandex UK. It shows all digital and signage products, as well as 30 new ‘speciality’ products designed to open up new and lucrative markets for sign makers and graphics producers.

EFI has upgraded its Fiery software and Fiery proServer digital front ends for wide- and superwide-format production inkjet printing. The new versions are said to include “major improvements” in processing speeds for EFI Vutek printers - allowing users to achieving average speed improvements of over 60% compared to previous versions.

Agfa Graphics has played a key part in the restoration of The Byodo-in Buddhist temple near Kyoto in Japan. The most famous part of Japanese National Treasure and World Heritage Site, and the only remaining original building, is the Phoenix Hall (Hoo-do) constructed in 1053. It’s the imagery and colours on the west doors to this that Agfa has restored.

The Tarsus Group is to run two new B2B events for the additive manufacturing industry (commonly referred to as 3D printing) in 2016. Additive Manufacturing Europe and Additive Manufacturing Americas will focus on the fastest growing vertical sectors – healthcare, aerospace and automotive. Two Sides has said that 168 of the 240 companies it identified as using misleading greenwash statements in their marketing and communications activities have now removed the offending comments as a direct result of its ongoing lobbying initiative.

US-based finishing equipment supplier Foster has brought to market a roll lifter for handling wide or heavy media rolls, particularly those used with grand- and wide-format printers. The Low Profile On-a-Roll Lifter handles media rolls up to 300kg and up to 5m wide. Foster, a HP partner, sees it as a companion to HP Latex 3000, 3100, and 3500 series printers in particular. The new lifter is available through HP dealers worldwide.

Colourgen increased revenue by 20% in the financial year ending June 2015, with all the brands it represents benefiting from growth, the most significant being laminator sales of Kala and Seal products which rose 124%.
