Slovenian printer installs world's first Durst Rho 800 HS

A Slovenian company called Print-Division has installed the world's first production Rho 800 HS (high speed) large-format UV inkjet printer. This is the fifth Rho UV inkjet in use by the company, which has three Rho 160's and a Rho 600 Pictor. The Rho 800 HS was bought to replace its three and a half years old Rho 205.

DCP moves on

DCP Systems has moved into new premises at Sir Wilfrid Newton House, Chapeltown, Sheffield. The new site includes a state-of-the-art warehouse and a purpose built demonstration room for digital textile printing with the Mutoh Extreme range and a host of finishing products from manufacturers such as GBC, Drytac, Fletcher Terry, Seal and the recently launched range of laminators by Kala. In addition, there's a Centre of Excellence which houses the full range of Epson imaging products for professional photographers.

Training a key necessity shows research

Training continues to be seen as important to business despite the economic climate according to a survey commissioned by Proskills. Its research showed 39% of print companies interviewed reported a continued investment in training during the past 12 months. Of those print companies questioned 14% said they are suffering from skills gaps, and 80% of these employers said these gaps are having a negative impact on their business, most notably through increased operating costs and workloads.

Inca Onset gets a boost

Inca Digital has introduced two options designed to boost the flexibility and productivity of its Onset UV flatbed printer. One option provides higher print speeds as well as two new higher quality print modes. The other delivers higher-end gloss, the ability to improve adhesion on difficult substrates and more versatility with heat-sensitive materials through reduced power consumption.

HP launches new substrates for its latex printers

The HP latex substrates range, first launched to coincide with the launch of the L65500 last year, has now been expanded to tie in with the launch of the smaller L22550 printers.

Epson slashes cost of extended warranties

Epson is offering half-price CoverPlus extended warranties on many of its Stylus Pro large-format printers, representing savings of up to ?699.50. This promotion extends the standard one-year warranty to a three-year, on-site extended warranty. This includes access to a UK-based telephone help desk and, if required, a next-day site visit from a specialist Epson engineer.

Hexis car vinyls cast a shimmer

Hexis has previewed various cast vinyls for car wrapping applications, including two variochrome versions of the new HX30000.

Print3 Uncut event launches this month

i-cut makes moves on Europe

i-cut, a division of EskoArtwork which specialises in software development and materials automation for digital cutters, has kicked off its entry into Europe by running live demonstrations of its new Vision Pro 7.0 software at Viscom in Germany.
