SignAway job blows away London commuters

Esher-based SignAway has carpeted London Bridge! The company produced a stunning multi-coloured 250m x 5m floorcovering on its Vutek GS5500 roll-to-roll UV printer on behalf of agency Marmalade as part of a project called ‘Spark Your City’ which aims to transform cities around the world into living playgrounds. The dazzling carpet, which reads ‘Love Mondays' from the air, was designed by BBC Radio 1 DJ Gemma Cairney and rolled out on Monday in time for commuters to walk across.

Greg Craigen of SignAway said that after being approached by Marmalade, the company undertook two site surveys before being given a week to print the carpet, which was produced in 25 x 5m sections. “A truck picked up the pieces at about 1pm on Sunday (21 June) and took them to London Bridge, the road was closed at midnight and we joined the full carpet on site, finishing at about 4am, ready for the road to be reopened and commuters on Monday morning.”
