The British Coatings Federation has marked 25 years since it was formed through the joining of the Society of British Printing Ink Manufacturers and the Paintmakers Association on 4 July 1993. The celebration coincided with the recent opening of the BCF’s new home in in Spectra House, Coventry. A commemorative plaque was unveiled during celebrations at a BCF printing ink technical committee meeting, attended by over 20 printing ink members.

Speciality paper maker Felix Schoeller Group has a new CEO. Hans-Christoph Gallenkamp - vice-chair for the last three years and chief operating officer since January 2017 - has replaced Dr Bernhard Klofat, who after 12 years in the CEO role has now joined the advisory board.

Fleet Livery Solutions (FLS) has wrapped a fleet of 10 AA vehicles in rainbow colours for this year’s Pride in London Parade on 7 July. The AA vans - which sport the colourful wraps printed on 3M’s Scotchlite Print Wrap Film 780mc-10R - will join around 500 parade groups for the annual event that aims to raise awareness of LGBT+ issues and campaign for these individuals’ freedoms.

Avery Dennison has appointed Pascale Wautelet global vice president of R&D for its label and graphic materials group. She succeeds Hassan Rmaile, who was promoted earlier in the year as vice president and general manager for global graphics and reflective solutions and vice president, global technology and ventures for Avery Dennison.

More than 50 guests from the coatings, printing inks and associated industries gathered last week to celebrate a new chapter in the 106-year history of the British Coatings Federation. The Lord Mayor of Coventry, councillor John Blundell, together with BCF president David Beckford and BCF CEO Tom Bowtell, cut the ribbon on the trade body’s new home - Spectra House - in Westwood Business Park, Coventry.
