US-based creative design company Eclipse Corp has bought a Massivit 1800 3D printer to differentiate its service offering from other print competitors, with owner Jeff Burt predicting that the kit will be integral to achieving revenue growth.

As Brexit negotiations continue, the creative industries are being sidelined according to a new report from by the Creative Industries Federation. The organisation has issued a statement pointing out that the UK’s fastest growing sector of the economy needs to be at the heart of political debate, and that the UK’s creative industries employ 700,000 more people than the financial services, and is worth £8bn more than the automotive sector, yet government is focusing on the latter.

BASF is increasing the price for pigments, dyes and preparations by up to 15% worldwide. The price increase - effective immediately, or as contracts allow - will affect all market segments, predominantly the printing, coatings and plastics industries.

Motion is now commercially running its first Epson large-format printer, an Epson SureColor SC-S80600 that it installed at the turn of the year. It marks a milestone for the Leicester-based company, which has been a HP user for 18 years and traded in an HP 360 Latex machine for the new Epson.
