Mimaki will exhibit for the first time at formnext 2017, an exhibition and conference on the next generation of manufacturing technologies. The show, which takes place in Frankfurt on 14 – 17 November - marks the unveiling to the 3D industry of the Mimaki 3DUJ-553 full-colour 3D printer. The company will also be showing the Mimaki UJF-7151plus UV LED direct-to-object flatbed printer to demonstrate its advanced UV inkjet printing technology, which serves as the base of the company’s 3D technology. Mimaki will also take 3DUJ-553 produced 3D samples to InPrint in Munich where it’s exhibiting 14 – 16 November.

HP Inc. has collaborated with designers the Yarza Twins and Silas Amos and Smirnoff to launch the beta programme of HP SmartStream Designer for Designers (D4D) which enables designers to create up to 20 variations of a design, and effectively take more creative control of the digital print process. The latest ‘Printing Outlook’ survey from the BPIF shows 50% of printers increased output levels in the third quarter of this year. A further 30% held output steady whilst 20% experienced a decline in output. The figures are marginally above the Q3 balances of recent years, but the forecast for Q4 is more dour - 30% forecast output will fall in Q4, which, if realised, will be the worst Q4 experienced for five years.
