Lincoln-based Your Print Partner (YPP) is now up and running in its new1950m2 headquarters, where it has taken delivery of Mimaki JFX200 flatbed and UJV55-320 3.2m roll fed UV printers from reseller RA Smart.

Graphtec GB will demonstrate its new FCX2000 series of flatbed plotter/cutters at Sign and Digital UK. They are available in three sizes (920 x 610, 920 x 1,200 and 920 x 1,800mm) and a choice of either a vacuum suction or electrostatic material hold-down facility. The plotter/cutters have a maximum cutting force of 9.8N and a maximum cutting speed of 400mm/sec.

Fespa has launched its Wrap Masters Design Competition, inviting contestants to create a striking design for a Formula 4S speed boat that will be used by the Haugaard Racing Team in the 2017 World Formula 4 UIM Powerboat Championship.

Blackman and White will showcase a number of new technical developments on the Versa-Tech laser/router/knife cutter at Sign and Digital UK. The Q4 seasonal upturn for the UK printing industry was better than expected - trade is forecast to at least hold steady for the majority in Q1 2017.

At Sign and Digital UK Drytac Europe will use the stand of its exclusive UK distributor Antalis for the European debut of its Protac Anti-Bacterial film. This 6mil textured polyester laminating film is said to provide good resistance to abrasion, making it useful for exhibitions and POP displays as well as in areas where hygiene is a key issue. It is resistant to chemicals and many common household cleaners.

New from Aslan is RP 36, a transparent rear projection film that allows multimedia elements to be integrated with POS or shop window designs. Also added to the Aslan range is SE 75, a highly reflective, scratch-resistant mirror effect film.

Alan Rigglesford, former MD of defunct Clicks and made MD of London-based Kingswood iOptus last week, expects to take the latter’s turnover from £5m to £7.5m in the next 12 months. He expects at least £2m of that higher figure to come from Kingswood Display, the large-format arm formed last summer and operating in Swanley, Kent.

Suffolk-based Stylize Display Graphics has installed an Anapurna H3200i LED printer with a dual roll-to-roll option and flatbed capability to replace its Agfa Anapurna M2500i. It is the first Anapurna H3200i LED to be installed in the UK.
