Dover Digital Printing is piggybacking off World Cup fever in sponsoring a new initiative to showcase customised football jersey printing at Fespa 2018, where it will be joined by Caldera, MS Printing Solutions, JK Group, Monti Antonio and Zund in a SportsFactory stand set-up. The SportsFactory will also house a sports bar, illustrating digital printing technologies, and a pop-up store showcasing digitally printed sports kits and graphics.

The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) will exhibit at the USA Science and Engineering Festival Expo in Washington DC this coming weekend to get print career opportunities in front of youngsters.

At Fespa 2018 Neschen Coating will exhibit with its subsidiary Filmolux, using its hotel themed stand to show off their media ranges, including a number of new introductions such as Neschen solvoprint easy dot 180 opaque monomeric vinyl film and easy dot chalkboard green printable film. Also on show will be new Neschen L-UV Wallpaper for latex and UV printing, available in smooth, classic and stucco finishes.

Esko will use Fespa 2018 to present integrated hardware and software solutions for more efficient workflows. In keeping with this strategy it will spotlight Automation Engine QuickStart for Sign, and WebCenter QuickStart for Corrugated for the packaging sector.

Kyocera has developed an air-cooled UV-LED curing light that it claims is the most powerful and smallest available. The new Kyocera G5A Series is for use in UV ink printing applications as well as for UV-cured coating and adhesive processes.

OKI Europe - a gold sponsor of Fespa 2018 - will use the event to showcase applications highlighting its 5-colour, white toner and neon capabilities. ColorPainter large-format printers will be live in action. Also on show will be the new Pro9000 Series Envelope Print System.

At Fespa 2018 Folex will premier various easy application window graphics and rollup films with either certified fire resistance or high glossy nanoporous finishes.

Keencut and distributor ArtSystems have introduced an authorised demonstration centre programme, designed to provide resellers with Keencut demonstration units at a discounted price. They will also receive specialist sales training.

New features for the wide-format print sector have been added to PrintFactory. “Beyond improving the user experience, Version 6 brings a number of powerful new tools to print shops and their customers,” said CEO, Erik Strik. These tools are said to include “more robust solutions to ongoing colour management and quality assurance challenges”.

The full event programme is now available for the inaugural Pure Digital event (17 - 19 April, Holland) developed to bring the print sector together with creatives.

Canadian maple syrup producer Sucrerie des Plaines has new signs designed and installed by the owners' uncle, Andre Bergeron, general manager of TAS Films, a specialist graphics company. The new graphics - which use Drytac Polar Grip and Interlam products - were printed and cut on a Mutoh machine and laminated.

BASF has extended its production facilities for Joncryl water-based emulsions. In addition to the production site in Heerenveen, Netherlands, it has ramped up its production of selected Joncryl emulsions at its Ludwigshafen site.
