DMUK MD back after charity trip

Display system manufacturer DMUK has just welcomed back managing director, Gary Clark-Ward, to its head office after a month-long trip to Thailand where he worked as a volunteer, largely in and around nursery-style schools, in the town of Surin in the North East of the country.

Clark-Ward, together with his wife and other willing volunteers, undertook various tasks including working with children up to four-years old in a teaching and supervisory capacity. He took responsibility for painting a large, colourful Thai alphabet on a classroom wall, spent time varnishing outdoor furniture, repairing classroom furniture and ceilings as well as working on a vegetable patch. His talent for frame design and manufacture came in handy when he was tasked with constructing a wooden frame onto which he attached a mosquito net which was then positioned in a classroom window.
