Pantone donation boosts PrintIt! 2012 programme

Pantone, the first ever Platinum Sponsor of the PrintIt! educational initiative, will donate around £70,000 worth of equipment to schools participating in the 2012 programme.

PrintIt! aims to help students develop their creative skills and to encourage them to consider a career in the print industry. The announcement of Pantone’s sponsorship was welcomed by Tom Bowtell, Proskills deputy CEO, who said: “Pantone’s generosity will help teachers engage their students in the wide variety of print techniques currently in use and demonstrate the vibrant, creative nature of the industry.”

Bowtell added: “The PrintIt! programme has gathered real momentum over the last few years, with over 16,700 students from more than 350 schools registering to take part in 2011. We aim to exceed this figure in 2012; however, the programme relies on donations, so if you want to support the development of the print industry then please get in touch.”

Alongside the equipment for participating schools, Pantone will also donate £10,000 (£5,000 in cash, £5,000 in prizes) for the awards ceremony.
