New president for The Printing Charity

Lord Black of Brentwood, executive director of Telegraph Media Group, has been named president of The Printing Charity. The role takes effect in January 2013.

The outgoing president, Murdoch MacLennan, chief executive of Telegraph Media Group, said he was honoured to be the charity’s president for 2102. He spoke of the huge challenges presented to everyone in the world of print caused by the prolonged recession and profound structural change within the industry. He stressed the importance of ensuring that people who need help receive it.

He added: “The Printing Charity wants to help. But in turn, the charity needs help ensuring that those who need help know there is someone they can turn to in difficulty. Getting that message across is absolutely vital.”
