New to Amari comes Green Cast

Amari has introduced Green Cast for in-store display graphics. The media is manufactured from 100% recycled acrylic materials collected from northern Italy and southern Germany by licensed recycling companies. It is transported to the Madreperla plant in Italy in 20 tonne loads, and is then cleaned, sorted and put through a patented process that breaks down the material into its constituent components from which are made the fresh acrylic sheets.

The company said Green Cast is as clear as any standard acrylic sheet and can be processed in exactly the same way - heated, polished, formed and printed.

Dr. Massimo Magistrini, European marketing and sales manager for Madreperla, said: “The proprietary technology developed by Madreperla has enabled us to produce a sheet that displays all the qualities of a virgin acrylic sheet whilst offering the customer a recycled, sustainable product that at the end of its life can be recycled again – making it a closed loop product. Many European retailers are now looking to Green Cast to help them fulfil their own companies’ environmental objectives and targets.

Originally manufactured in just clear from 3mm to 25mm thick sheets, the range of sheets available has been extended and now includes opal and white opaque sheets, a colour range comprising more than 50 shades (some subject to minimum order quantities and availability) in both opaque and translucent colours. Note that the only colour not available in Green Cast is black - as this can only be produced with a maximum of 70% recycled content.

Plus, the Green Cast range has been extended to mirror the Madreperla Satinglas range that has a frosted finish on either one or both sides. Satinglas is available in clear, opal, white and colours (both opaque and transparent).

Amari product development manager Jamie Manifold said: “Green Cast offers Amari and its customers a real chance to improve the sustainability of POS/POP displays. Acrylic has long been seen as a ‘dirty’ product, produced from oil and sold for scrap at low values to be made in to a lower grade product. Now it can be used again and again to make high quality, visually perfect displays. The good news to the retailer and fabricators of these displays is the product is realistically valued and sold at market competitive rates to allow it to be easily integrated in to production.

“Green Cast offers everyone a chance to improve their sustainability credentials and improve the image of the throw away society.”
