Digital Signage a key focus at enlarged European Sign Expo

The third European Sign Expo, which will be co-located with Fespa 2015 in Cologne next May, will be 20% bigger than the 2014 event in Munich in terms of floor space.

A focus of the event, which hones in on non-printed signage, will aim to show visitors the future of signage - including digital signage - through its Ask the Experts feature, a networking hub where there will be daily panel discussions and debate a wide range of topics focused around digital signage.

Roz McGuinness, divisional director, Fespa, explained: “While the exhibits at European Sign Expo will focus predominantly on conventional non-printed signage, our Ask the Experts feature will concentrate on digital signage and will provide inspirational and practical support for anybody interested in digital signage or looking to expand their business into this area.

“We recently organised Ask the Experts at our Brasil Signage Expo in September 2014. The Expo and feature emphasised the demand in the market for a dedicated signage event and demonstrated the need for education and learning about digital signage, hence the decision to replicate the feature in Cologne in May 2015.”

McGuinness added: “Printers and signmakers are realising that it doesn’t have to be an ‘either or’ market, but that printed and digital signage can, and do, complement each other. 40% of visitors to Fespa Digital and European Sign Expo 2014 stated that digital signage and live media was the key area of focus they’d like to see more of at Fespa events, and we think that the Ask the Experts feature is the perfect way to address this need.”
