Inkjet printer manufacturers set out industrial development stalls at InPrint

Inkjet printer manufacturers such as Inca and Agfa will use InPrint 2015 in Munich (10 - 12 November) to set out their industrial print stalls.

At the event Inca Digital will introduce its new service Inca Genius, a dedicated technology and applications arm designed to serve the needs of organisations looking for an established partner to help develop innovative inkjet production solutions for industrial applications.

“Inca Genius is the perfect partner for companies looking to develop and manufacture inkjet-based imaging equipment for specific industrial applications,” said John Mills, CEO, Inca Digital. “Our experience allows us to develop industrially reliable print, with a dedicated team of designers, engineers and software specialists. Inca Genius can help companies realise their ideas for inkjet-driven print and manufacturing solutions.”

Inca Genius will leverage the knowledge, technology and experience of in-house development, production and support teams in areas such as mechanical engineering, printhead technologies, substrates, and software development. Together with close partner relations with ink manufacturers, printhead developers and Rip vendors, Inca Genius has been designed to provide a complete resource for the development of new inkjet print solutions.

At InPrint 2015, Inca Genius will showcase a range of samples demonstrating how inkjet-based print solutions can be used on a variety of substrates, including wood, metal, laminates, wallpaper, synthetic leather and packaging cartons.

Agfa Graphics will also use InPrint to position itself as a partner for integrating print into manufacturing. At the event Agfa will put a wide selection of industrial products on display, representing areas in which inks and fluids are used to produce digitally printed industrial products.

“Industrial customers enjoy the competitive advantage of having access to a process or solution that their competitors have not even thought about,” said Tom Cloots, manager marketing Industrial Inkjet. “Requirements can be quite different. Some inks must be compatible with coatings designed by the substrate supplier for instance. We have dedicated research teams to design specific inks or ink sets with the optimal performance. Case by case we decide to collaborate with a number of companies to integrate print in a specific industrial process.”
