Report shows majority of Brits want work emails banned during holiday

A study by Oliverstravels.com shows that 60% of Brits want work emails banned whilst on holiday.
The study - which looked at a typical British worker - found that 56% are addicted to checking work communications, 37% cannot manage one day without checking work communications on holiday, and that 60% want employers to cut off work communications whilst during holiday periods. Oliver Bell from Oliverstravels.com said: “The rise in flexible working arrangements has created an apparent ‘always-on’ work culture. British workers need protections put in place to ensure workers are able to properly enjoy their time off and return to work fully refreshed.” Meanwhile the Forum of Small Business has been blogging, encouraging employers to think about the wellbeing of their employees, pointing out that conditions such as anxiety, depression and unmanageable stress are experienced by one in six British workers each year.
