EFI unveils h series platform

EFI has unveiled its next-generation hybrid flatbed/roll platform technology - the EFI Vutek h series. Built from the ground up it is said to to offer higher quality, more capabilities and better productivity.
The range comprises the 3.2m wide h3 and h5 - the h3 has three rows of 7pl UltraDrop Technology greyscale printheads and the h5 has five. The machines offer 4- or 8-colour+white printing as well as five-layer print capability in a single pass. The new h3 model on display at Fespa 2018 has a maximum throughput of up to 74 boards per hour and the h5 up to 109 boards per hour. Currently in beta, the machines are slated for commercial availability by the end of June and will sit between the GS and HS series machines. Also new is the EFI Vutek FabriVU 340i - an aqueous soft signage printer with inline fixation – and version 7 of EFI’s Fiery wide- and superwide-format production digital front ends (DFEs) and updated Fiery Command Workstation software. Together, these two products give users the ability to manage cut-sheet, continuous-feed, wide-format, and superwide-format digital print devices from a single user interface (UI). EFI’s exhibit also features the launch of a textile pigment ink technology for direct-to-textile production.
