Konica Minolta has opened a 5m Euro textile innovation centre at Como, near Milan. With its brand proposition, ‘Giving Shape to Ideas’, the IJ Textile Europe Demonstration and Training Centre provides a home to Konica Minolta’s new Nassenger SP-1, Nassenger 10 and Nassenger 8.

Sensient Imaging Technologies has launched a range of digital sublimation printing inks called ElvaJet Punch for high performance decoration of polyester fabrics. A specific set, ElvaJet Punch EP, has been developed for use on Epson-printhead based systems, including DX and TFP based printers.

A new look Ipex will take place in 2017 at its old stomping ground, the NEC, Birmingham, not in 2018 as slated, nor at the ExCeL London where the troubled 2014 took place. News that Informa Exhibitions has forged a partnership with Picon and the NEC and created a Joint Executive Committee to reshape Ipex coincided with the inaugural Print Show taking place at the NEC this week.

Callprint is continuing its heavy investment programme with an Océ Arizona 480GT and 480XT as part of its Saffron Hill hub upgrade. The new printers are expected to improve productivity and workflow at the facility where the print room is being revamped. The storage area within Saffron Hill has also been increased to help utilise space.

Kyocera has developed a 150dpi inkjet printhead that it said enables simultaneous CMYK printing from a single printhead. The Kyocera KJ4B-0150 printhead offers 150dpi resolution for each colour, with a printing speed of 76.2m/min. The head will be available in January

Fujifilm Speciality Ink Systems (FSIS) has picked up two more awards for its Broadstairs production facility, walking away with the ‘Best Process Plant’ and ‘Export’ awards at the Best Factory Awards (BFAs). It’s the third time FSIS has been awarded the Best Process Plant award at the BFAs, this year held in London and presented by BBC Breakfast presenter Steph McGovern.

Papergraphics has become an approved distributor of the Zund G3 and S3 digital cutters in the UK. The move comes swiftly on the heels of an agreement for Papergraphics to distribute CWT’s Flat Bed Applicator and Linear Cutter products in the UK, Holland and Belgium.

Stanford Marsh Group Graphics will host open days at ArtSystems’ Nottingham offices and showroom on 28 – 29 October. The events will focus on HP’s Latex 300 Series printers and latest HP DesignJet Z-series models.

Displayways has bought-out Mintsource Visual Communications. MD Rob Kelly said: “Since my partner Peter Sheldrick and I purchased Displayways in the summer of 2012 we have embarked upon an investment programme in people, processes and equipment designed to create the foundations for growth. The acquisition of Mintsource fits perfectly with our strategy to grow our market share at the bespoke end of the display graphics market.

Roland DG’s new EUV4 eco-UV ink - for use with its VersaUV UV-LED inkjet printers - will be available from the end of this month (October).
