InPrint 2015 showcases all segments of functional, decorative and package printing in industrial production, including speciality, screen, digital, inkjet and 3D. The specialised show for industrial printing technologies takes place from 10 to 12 November 2015 at the Munich Trade Fair Centre. The entrance ticket will include entry to the specialised show with its comprehensive range of the latest printing technologies for manufacturing, as well as free entrance to the“Great Innovations Session” and to the co-located “productronica” show.

Version 10 of Caldera's flagship printer control suite has been upgraded for all current licence-holders, improving productivity markers, speed and language support for international users. Drivers have also been developed for a number of new printers and cutters.

Messe Düsseldorf will participate in GRAPH EXPO 2015 in order to promote its worldwide program of international printing trade fairs, including drupa 2016 (May 31 - June 10, 2016 in Düsseldorf, Germany), All in Print China 2016 (October 18 - 22, 2016 in Shanghai) and INDOPRINT 2016 (September 7 – 10, 2016 in Jakarta, Indonesia). At GRAPH EXPO booth 4048, drupa 2016, All in Print China 2016 and INDOPRINT 2016 exhibitor and visitor information will be available.

Sawgrass Industrial, maker of sublimation and water-based pigment inks, is joining other digital ink specialists Kiian Digital and J-Teck3 as part of the JK Group. A binding agreement has been signed and the transaction is expected to complete by the end of July. Sawgrass Technologies will continue to operate as an independent company serving the needs of digital printing applications on printers less than 42in addressing non-industrial customer needs.

The Premier Paper Group has extended its Carbon Capture programme. The group, which originally offered the scheme to customers to capture CO2 emissions from the production and distribution involved in their paper purchases (which was then calculated and captured by planting trees with the Woodland Trust’s Woodland Carbon Scheme) has now been extended to organisations and companies that wish to Carbon Capture all the CO2 emissions related to their operational activities. The first to take up the offer is Purely Digital.

Staffordshire-based large-format digital print company Printdesigns Limited has ordered its second Zund G3 digital cutter to cope with increasing demand for its expanding range of portable fabric-based display stands. The new Zund G3 cutter has a 3.2m-wide bed and will also feature a specially developed fabric tensioning system, critical for the effective transport of the high elastane-content polyester fabrics used for Printdesigns's graphics. It is expected in September.

M2 Products, a wholly owned subsidiary of the French Emball’iso Group and the only manufacturer of Foam Board in the UK, has appointed Matthew Albone to the newly created position of sales and marketing manager. In his new role a key remit is to develop awareness of the Airplac brand for POS.

Spandex is now selling the new Avery Dennison MPI 1104 Cast Series for vehicle wrapping and other interior and exterior applications. The range is compatible with latex, UV, solvent and eco-solvent inkjet printers, and has gloss and matt options with grey adhesive system for improved opacity.

Epson has released two new dye-sub printers, the 64in wide SC-F7200 and 44-inch wide SC-F6200. Both utilise Epson’s PrecisionCore TFP printheads and work with the UltraChrome DS inkset. A new HDK Black ink has been created to help produce deep, neutral blacks and dense shadows particularly on textiles. The SC-F7200 prints at up to 58.9m2/hr and the SC-F6200 at up to 63.4m2/hr.

Precision Printing’s ‘WhereTheTradeBuys’ website has scooped the top prize in the best B2B e-business project category of the 2015 Big Chip Awards. The e-commerce platform, launched in 2010, sells digital (including large-format) and litho printed products. Judges said it “does just what it says on the tin, providing cost-effective online buying for UK businesses”.

EFI has introduced the Fiery API (application programming interface) to enable PSPs to develop customised solutions to automate and streamline their digital print production operations. It lets print companies with in-house or contract developers integrate their digital print operations with their existing IT framework to share data and eliminate job-prep process steps.
