Agfa Graphics will show the Anapurna M2500i with optional automated board feeder (ABF) for the first time in Europe at C!Print in Lyon this month. It will be demonstrated in the Atelier Plug & Play, a 1000m² creative workshop at the centre of the hall.

Sign and Digital UK will see the European introduction of the 3.2m UV roll printer, the Jetrix RX3200.

Available either as a four-colour (CMYK) or eight-colour (CMYK Light Cyan Light Magenta Light Black and Light Yellow) printer, the RX3200 uses 16 Konica KM series (14pl) printheads for output resolution up to 1440dpi. Print speeds are up to 169m2/hr in production mode – 36m2/hr in the best quality setting. Features include an easy winding system for heavy media and an automatic nozzle cleaning function.

Mimaki has attained the OEKO-TEX accreditation for direct skin contact for its Sb300 series dye sublimation inks and Sb53 sublimation transfer inks. The company has been awarded the Standard 100, product class Il. This concerns textiles and inks which, when used as intended, have a large part of their surface in direct contact with the skin. The certification shows the inks fulfill the requirements of Annex XVII of REACH as well as the American requirement regarding total content of lead in children's articles.

MTEX Technologies will show the new Vision direct-to-textile printer with direct disperse inks at Sign and Digital UK.

Two new Canon imagePrograf printers will be available to order next month. The iPF670 is a 24in wide machine and the iPF770 a 36in wide one, the latter also available as an MFP, with an optional large format scanner and 22in touchscreen display attachment. Canon said both models can print an A1 equivalent image in 28 seconds in the fastest print mode.

Displayways has just completed a £500,000 investment that includes a move to new offices, the creation of a showroom with an ‘ideas room’, a Mimaki JFX500 UV 3m x 2m flatbed printer, an Agfa Annapurna 3200 3.2m wide UV roll-to-roll printer, new workflow systems and new finishing equipment.

Signs Express (Portsmouth) has new owners. Ray Allenby and Jane Wiles have taken over the 13-year-old franchise in Cosham, where they are updating equipment and recruiting staff.

Wiles previously worked for the Hull centre for ten years in an office manager role. Allenby, her partner, previously worked in South Africa.
