Epson renewed its partnership with fashion designer Kansai Yamamoto to support the ‘Hello Istanbul!’ fashion show held on Saturday in Istanbul, Turkey. The partnership, through which Yamamoto uses Epson print technology to create textile pieces, follows on from the V&A's ‘Fashion in Motion: Kansai Yamamoto’ event held in London last year where they also worked together.

Branding specialist Icon played a major role in delivering The Ryder Cup’s look and event presentation at Gleneagles last month. The company dressed all the tees, grandstands, camera towers and scoreboards in addition to providing some signature pieces within the tented village, media compound and for both the opening and closing ceremonies. 

Josero has been appointed an approved Ricoh specialist and will sell the full range of Ricoh wide-format products, with particular emphasis on the L4100 Series Latex Printer, MFP’s and CAD printers. A new demonstration room is under construction at Josero’s head office in Cambridge to house Ricoh machines, including the L4160 Latex printer with pantone and white ink capabilities. It is expected to open next month. 

As part of its continued expansion plans into the sign and display industry Sydney Beaumont (Leeds) has recruited former Paperlinx and Europoint man Kevin Scanlan in an external sales capacity. The move coincides with the company appointed as a Mactac self adhesive vinyl distributor. 

A new textile collection designed by Guandong for the HP Latex Series 300 printers is now available. It includes the LUS Series with a Polyester Flag without liner, Frame & Decor, and the Elastic & Conformable Polyester. There are also a number of new canvas substrates.

Sign and Digital UK has confirmed that stand bookings for 2015 are up by 20% year-on-year, with over 100 exhibitors now confirmed for the event that will take place at the NEC, Birmingham on 24 to 26 March. 

Digital Dimensions is a new subscription-based online business development support service from Canon offering access to advice, profiling and planning tools and mentoring programmes. It is targeted at both commercial (including large format PSPs) and in-house print departments. 

Roland DG has launched the Texart RT-640, a 64in dye sublimation transfer printer that comes in either four- or eight-colour ink configurations and with a choice of Rips. Top speed is 32.6m2/hr. 

HP is to split into two new publicly traded Fortune 50 companies: one comprising HP’s enterprise technology infrastructure, software and services businesses, which will do business as Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, and one that will comprise HP’s personal systems and printing businesses, which will do business as HP Inc. and retain the current logo.

Fespa has re-launched its Planet Friendly Guide as a series of ‘mini’ guides, with one introductory guide and 10 subject-specific guides. All are available free of charge to members of Fespa’s 37 national associations.

The South African printing association, Printing SA, has become an Associate Member of Fespa following approval of the application at Fespa’s recent General Assembly. Printing SA will serve two years as an Associate Member, before the decision to grant full membership status is put to a vote among Fespa’s other national associations.

Brazilian POS design and production company Artwork Digital has come up with these mobile storage boxes for the Bau Econhecimento School. Made from 16mm re-board, seven boxes were produced, comprising two doors, two drawers, shelf and lid, mounted on casters. The individual box parts were digitally printed on Artwork Digital’s Inca Onset S20 flatbed printer using solvent free UV inks, before being cut and assembled.
