EFI and graphic communications industry association AMSP/NAPL/NAQP have announced that EFI Connect and the AMSP/NAPL/NAQP Executive Leadership Summit will hold concurrent events in 2015. The joint 2015 conferences will be held at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.

Hybrid Services has appointed Colin Lewis to the new position of operations manager. He brings over 40 years’ experience in the customer service and technical sectors to the company where he takes up responsibility for the service and technical departments, heading up a team of internal and nationally based engineers that support Mimaki installations across the UK and Ireland.

 
Quad/Graphics has installed Europe’s first Inca Onset Q40i following its launch at Fespa 2013. The commercial printer, which has sites worldwide, already has an Inca Onset Q40i in the US to complement the company’s Onset S70 and S50i machines. Corporate marketing manager for Europe, Agnieszka Golebiowsk, said Quad/Graphics is looking to provide the same quality and consistency by making similar investments in Europe.

New to the Aslan film range is The PrintMetall Dryapply CPL 22, a printable metal effect media. Available in gold and silver, it has a special top coating that makes it printable with solvent, eco-solvent, latex and UV-curable inks as well as screen printing inks.

Perspex Distribution appointed a new branch manager at the Weybridge branch. Neil Sole, who has 16 years’ experience in the print and display sector, is tasked with further developing Perspex Distributions’ newest branch which opened in early 2012, servicing a growing customer base in the South of England.

Four ‘Conform Chrome’ materials (Chrome Silver, Chrome Black, Chrome Gold and Chrome Blue) have been added to the range, and six satin films are now included in the portfolio - black, white, khaki green, awesome orchid, carmine red and bubblegum pink. The latter give medium-lustre finishes, with both matte and gloss characteristics and the appearance of satin paint. 

Roland DG (UK) used Sign and Digital UK this year by committing a number of its machines to producing banners for two UK charities: Ronald McDonald House Charities and Children’s Hospice South West throughout.

Global Inkjet Systems (GIS), the developer of software, drivers, firmware and electronics for industrial inkjet printheads, can now support the new Xaar 1002 printhead range. It has designed a new Head Interface Board (HIB-XR-1002) to drive the Xaar 1002 printhead, without the need for the Xaar HPC. The HIB connects directly to the Xaar 1002 printhead and is designed to drive the printhead to full specification.
