Ipex 2014 has taken another blow with Heidelberg saying it will not exhibit. The news comes just weeks after HP said it had made a decision not to exhibit at the show.

Landor UK has appointed Peter Davidson as business and commercial director, a move that Landor said will “strengthen the UK sales operation and assist with our business growth in Europe”.

Northprint is being relaunched as North Print and Pack 2013, and will take place 14 - 16 May 2013 in Harrogate. Organiser Informa Exhibitions said the event is not only launched with a new name, but promises to deliver more content, products and advice than ever before to help printers develop their business into new areas.

Ipex organiser Informa Exhibitions has announced plans for a series of roadshows next year ahead of the 2014 event. Ten UK cities will host the tour, which will also visit Australia, Belgium/Netherlands, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey and the USA. Attendees will hear the latest updates on Ipex 2014, which will include information on the Cross Media event which will be integrated with Ipex.

Well-known industry stalwart Peter Bray has joined Durst as UK sales manager. As part of the role he will be looking to extend Durst’s customer base into new markets where its industrial inkjet capability provides decoration solutions.

Canon company Océ has brought out new eco-solvent printers known as the CS9300 Series. This comprises the CS9360 64in machine - which was previewed at Fespa Digital earlier this year - and the CS9350 54in unit. They are based on the CS9160 and Océ CS9050 respectively but are significantly faster. With a speed of up to 29 m2/hr the CS9360 model is 60% percent faster than the CS9160 printer and at up to 27.9 m2/hr the new CS9350 nearly twice the print speed of the CS9050.

The Print and Innovation Theatre, sponsored by Canon, is one of six free seminar theatres at Cross Media 2012 (3-4 September 2012, Business Design Centre, London). The theatre aims to provide printers with new strategies to transform their businesses in order to capitalise on multi-media marketing, the latest printing technologies and digital innovations.
