Agfa Graphics buys Gandi Innovations assets

Agfa Graphics has reached an agreement to acquire most of the assets of troubled Gandi Innovations LLC's North American operations and the shares of its principal foreign subsidiaries. The acquisition, which is subject to regulatory and court approval, seals the fate of Gandi Innovations which has been operating under CCAA protection in Canada and?

Chapter 15 in the USA since May this year. Agfa has not disclosed how much it is paying for the Gandi assets, though in a statement the company said the transaction "will have no major impact on Agfa's financial debt."

Canon to buy Oc?

Canon is stumping up 730 million euros to buy Oc? "to create the overall number one presence in the printing industry". In a joint statement the companies said that Canon intends to offer 8.60 euros per share for Oc?'s outstanding shares. Oc?'s management and supervisory boards support the offer and will recommend it to shareholders and key stakeholders have already agreed to the move.

Ipex bookings surge reflects support

Whiteghyll Visual buys cutting kit

Bradford-based Whiteghyll Visual Fabrications has bought an AXYZ cut-to-print CNC solution for its graphics department to help boost productivity and reduce costs. The installation follows last year's investment in a large-format EFI Vutek UV printer which marked the screenprint operation's move into digital output. Subsequently Whiteghyll, a supplier of bespoke retail display and visual merchandising products, was confronted with the problem of how to accurately cut out prints that had been created using rigid materials like foamed board, acrylic and MDF.
