Help for SME's struggling with employment law

The Forum of Private Business (FPB) has published an 'Employment Guide' to help small businesses comply with employment law, which from 1 October sees a number of legal changes. From that date business owners will be expected to cope amendments related to employment, such as increases in the National Minimum Wage, and an increase in the cost of redundancy.

Print 09 sees EFI workflow additions

Print 09 has seen EFI make a number of announcements including integrated support for JDF workflows as standard on its Fiery servers via new Fiery 9 software. It also announced a Web Control Center that connects monitors and controls proofing and printing across remote sites and introduced a PrintFlow Web module for its scheduling system.

SMP goes superwide with HP Scitex XP5300

Digital flatbed die-cutter from Gerber

The new M Turbo flatbed digital die-cutting system from Gerber Scientific Products allows you to rout .080 aluminum and thick rigid materials up to 1in as well as rout thinner rigid boards up to four times faster than with the standard M Series router. The M Turbo, launched at Print 09, has a router head configured to the M Series T3 tool head design, so it can take advantage of all of all the standard M Series tools.

"We're always looking to help members save money and energy costs are a major outgoing," said association chairman Sidney Bobb. "There are many energy management companies out there but a lot of them charge the client a fee. The one we've found has integrity and doesn't."
