Double-sided Jupiter launches

D&K Europe is bringing out a double-sided Jupiter laminator. It will be launched at the Grafi+Sign show in Belgium in October and is based on the 30m/min single-sided Jupiter introduced at DPW in October 2006 to fill the gap between the Semi-Automatic B2 Pegasus and the compact B1 Proteus.

The BAPC has launched a Ratings Scheme (for members and no-members) to help print companies get money back if they have been overpaying on their business rates. And it seems many have been as current business rates were set based on property values in 2003, well before the recent drop in prices. This means that those of you who think the rateable value of your premises is too high can appeal for a reduction - and a rate rebate.



Improved access to training via new Manufacturing Skills Alliance

Proskills has joined forces with four other related Sector Skills Councils (SSCs), Cogent, Improve, Semta and Skillsfast-UK, to form the Manufacturing Skills Alliance (MSA). The objective of the Alliance is to find common ground across the five manufacturing-related SSCs to unify and simplify the processes in which manufacturing employers can address skills shortages, access the right training support, and create opportunities for employers in their respective sectors to improve productivity and profitability through skills, allowing them to compete in the global economy.

Drytac launches liquid laminates for outdoor applications

Two new liquid laminate coatings have been added to Drytac's range. Both develop a tough exterior finish that is scratch and abrasion resistant and able to withstand the rigors of commercial vehicle cleaning using industrial chemicals.

Cestrian takes UK's first Agfa M-Press Tiger
