Image Line applauded for Cats theatre performance

Events specialist Image Line Communications has been praised for its work on the merchandising area for the ‘Cats’ show at the London Palladium.

With two weeks to go before the show’s opening night, Image Line was chosen by Live Nation Merchandise Europe to build its merchandise concept. Image Line clad the upper part of the ornate, Edwardian wall with Foamex panels overlaid with stars and moon graphics. Small holes were then cut out of the panel section and tiny lights installed to create an effect of stars shining at night. At the centre of the display white vinyl was used to create the words ‘Cats’ and ‘Official Souvenirs’.

The wall’s lower section was then mounted with black wooden slat wall panels to display the Cats merchandise. To maintain a consistent visual theme and create maximum impact Image Line also produced a Cats floor visual. Here paw shapes were cut from self-adhesive vinyl and used to form a trail from entrance to the booth: they lead visitors to the 2 x 4m stand which stores official show merchandise such as clothing and programmes.

Ben Rawling, Live Nation logistics manager, said: “Live Nation Merchandise Europe needed a quick thinking visual events company to create a memorable, themed display from one of our concepts at short notice. In Image Line we found just that provider. Their team responded with enthusiasm and tenacity to create a striking display that perfectly showcases the CATS theme.
