New InfoTrends report on digital printing for the decor market

Coinciding with Fespa’s announcement that it is launching interiors event Printeriors this May, comes news that InfoTrends has recently completed a study ‘Profiting through Digital Printing in the Decor Marketplace’, as part of a series of research projects that over time will cover the main methods and applications using digital technologies for industrial decorative printing.

In this study, via a series of interviews and surveys, InfoTrends has examined the architect and interior design communities to quantify the opportunity for printing industry suppliers such as equipment, software and materials manufacturers.?

Key findings show that:

  • Many architects and interior designers are waking up to the benefits of digital print
  • That decor material producers gravitate to digital printing in order to offer high value added customised solutions and improve production efficiency
  • That certain producers have reengineered their manufacturing processes to meet changing customer demand for mass customised products
  • And that the key barriers for adoption remain capital investment needed for a large scale operation transitioning from conventional to digital manufacturing platforms
