New from Mutoh is the 64in-wide ValueJet 1604WX (VJ-1604WX) dye sublimation printer. Delivering typical production speeds up to 22m²/h at 360 x 1080dpi (three-pass), the machine will print on common dye-sublimation transfer papers and can handle 2in and 3in core rolls. It comes with a stand, a non-motorised roll-off system and a motorised winder system for media rolls up to 30kg.
Engineered and manufactured in Japan, the VJ-1604WX uses a variable drop eight-channel printhead, allowing output resolutions up to 1440 x 1440dpi. The piezo printhead is capable of firing drops from 3.5pl up to 21pl.
The printer uses Mutoh’s DS2-series dye sublimation inks - which are 100 % VOC free - and can be used for transfer paper printing or for direct printing onto polyester or mixed fibre fabrics. Available in 1 litre bottles, the inks are Okotex Standard 100 compliant.
The new ValueJet VJ-1604WX model will be sold exclusively through Mutoh’s channel of authorised resellers throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
