WAE buys first Longier RU3200 from QPS

Quality Print Services (QPS) has brought the 3.2m wide UV LED roll-to-roll Longier Hunter RU3200 to the UK market. Leeds-based sign group WAE has bought the first of the machines from the company. The new printer - which sits alongside a Longier Hunter FP-3750 LED flatbed printer bought from QPS in 2015 - has been adapted to print unbacked mesh banners and fabric graphics.
The RU3200 uses Ricoh Gen5 and can print CMYK and optional white ink and varnish. The top resolution is 600 x 1,200dpi at speeds in excess of 80m2/hr. "We're delighted to bring the newest Longier Hunter model to the UK and have had positive feedback from WAE Group," said Chris Bailey, MD, QPS. Ahead of the RU3200's installation WAE MD Paul Austin said he was drawn to the energy-efficiency and sustainability offered by the new Longier's UV LED-curing technology. He also noted the reliability of both the Longier brand and of QPS's service. "We've had minimal problems and those have been rectified very quickly - which is refreshing after experiencing long waits to sort things out from other service companies in the past," he said.
