HP has announced a digital printing solution for wallcoverings to help both print providers and wallcovering manufacturers capture more of the growing custom décor market.

Two Sides has sent an open letter to Eric Schmidt of Google highlighting concerns that the company (and others) is trying to promote its services as environmentally preferable to print and paper when there is evidence that electronic communication, and Google’s activities in particular, carry a significant and increasing environmental footprint.

More details of the first Digital Print UK show have been unveiled by organiser Faversham House with an exhibitor promising a UK first for the event which was originally scheduled to run last autumn but will now take place at the NEC, 5-7 November 2013.

Newport-based Ottimo Digital has won the contract to print the new rear livery for the RAC’s fleet of 1,400 breakdown assistance vans. The work will be printed on the company’s two 64in Epson SureColor SC-S30600 roll-fed printers recently bought from distributor Spandex.

PrintCafé is looking for new franchisees in a bid by owner GDL - a group of print businesses - to expand the brand in the UK where there are currently five stores. Another 13 are due to open in the first quarter of the year.
