Fespa Digital 2012 75% booked 

More than three quarters of available floor space at Fespa Digital 2012 in Barcelona next February 2012 has been booked. Over 200 individual exhibitors are confirmed and Fespa expects the final line-up to include over 350 principal exhibitors.

Excessive ink usage is costing the industry dear says report

Excessive total area coverage (TAC) for deep blacks could be costing the global print industry hundreds of million of Euros, according to the results of a study by the Flemish Innovation Centre for Graphic Communication (VIGC). The long-held belief in the industry is that the TAC should be between 320% and 360%, but the VIGC investigation revealed that 260%, or even 220%, is more than adequate, as long as the conversion is carried out with the correct profiles.

DPI secures UK and Irish distribution for new Novus printer 

New US-based Novus Imaging has unveiled a patent pending, full greyscale, 3m hybrid printer and a new, patent pending, ‘green’ ink technology at the SGIA show. Digital Print Innovations (DPI) will be the UK and Irish distributor for the product range.
