Oc? supports environmental research initiative Verdigris
Oc? has joined Verdigris, the not-for-profit print environmental research initiative, as a 'Founder' supporter. It joins Agfa, Canon Europe, Digital Dots, Drupa, Fujifilm, HP, Kodak, Unity Publishing, Ricoh and Screen in their support for the global project.
Following the success of its first HP Scitex XP2300 printer, Gardners is planning to invest in at least five more machines. The Cardiff-based company, which was one of the first in the world to install the 3.2m UV roll-to-roll printer, has seen massive productivity increases and slashed ink consumption with the printer which also allows Gardners to meet its objective of printing UV onto more environmentally friendly media than PVC.

Seal Graphics launches 100micron gloss vinyl for eco-solvent and UV-curable inks
Building on the success of its 80micron film Seal Graphics has now brought out a 100micron white, monomeric vinyl suitable for use with eco-solvent, solvent and UV-curable inks with a gloss finish and a permanent transparent adhesive.
Autosigns, well known for its point-of-sale (POS) products for the automotive market, has been brought by former employee Steve Ball two months after it went into administration. Ball, who is also managing director of Leicestershire-based POS design and manufacturing services company Proaction i-d, has bought the Autosigns name and assets. Having joined Autosigns as an apprentice in 1987, Ball has already re-employed some of the key members of the staff who were responsible for its former success.
School has just got a lot more colourful for students at Pudsey Grangefield School, Leeds, where the interior walls have been given a high impact new look with the help of super-sized graphic wall coverings. Inspirational images have been used to create the full-colour wall murals produced by large-format printer Digital Plus.
