Fespa UK calls on PSPs to take part in waste scheme

Fespa UK association is working with Prismm Environmental to collect and recycle PVC banner and polypropylene print waste, and is calling on PSPs to get involved.

“Our membership is varied but what they all have in common is that they want to be able to dispose of their waste materials responsibly and send as little as possible to landfill,” said Fespa UK managing director Suzi Wilkinson. “By working with Prismm Environmental we aim to offer a totally impartial waste management scheme, so no matter where a printer buys their materials, they will not be tied into any one provider to dispose of their waste.

"Our aim is to bring as many printers together and then as a collective group build an infrastructure to responsibly dispose of as many types of substrate waste as possible. Because we deal with a wide range of printers throughout the industry, we are best placed to bring the industry together and work towards an industry wide waste management system.”

Wilkinson added: “By utilising Prismm Environmental’s logistics infrastructure and its knowledge of the recycling markets, we can focus on specific waste substrates to source solutions. The first material to be incorporated into this plan is rigid polypropylene. The next materials in focus are PVC and polyester banners, where Prismm has also established a relationship with a recycling solution.”
