Cash grants of up to £1,500 each are now available to help cover costs associated with education or training courses for a career in printing, publishing or graphic arts in the UK. Entries close Friday, 29 May 2015.

Atlantic Tech Services has moved into new larger premises to support the growth in sales of AEG UV printers, solvent and UV ink and media products, and the growth in the company’s service and support maintenance contracts for Mimaki, Roland and Mutoh solvent printers.

Colourgen will include the new 24in ValueJet 628 with eco solvent inks, and the ValueJet 1624 with new 1l eco solvent ink bags on its stand at Sign and Digital UK 2015 in March. Also on show will be the new Mutoh 426UF A3+ LED UV printer for printing personalised products, labels and gadgets.

New from Drytac is Scuff Guard, a 150µ (6 mil) textured PVC protective over-laminate film with a matte finish offering good scuff resistance for all types of printed graphics. Applications include the over-lamination of short term indoor floor graphics courtesy of Scuff Guard’s R10 anti-slip rating. When combined with Drytac FloorTac printable vinyl for floor graphics the new film is warrantied for six months when used in high traffic indoor areas.

Fespa is launching a Printeriors showcase and conference alongside its main event in Cologne, 18 - 22 May. It will target the design community, highlighting the creative potential of using print to realise interior design concepts for retail, residential, corporate and hospitality settings.

Coinciding with Fespa’s announcement that it is launching interiors event Printeriors this May, comes news that InfoTrends has recently completed a study ‘Profiting through Digital Printing in the Decor Marketplace’, as part of a series of research projects that over time will cover the main methods and applications using digital technologies for industrial decorative printing.

At Heimtextil in Frankfurt this week Epson is showing how it has transformed oil paintings by Bryony Benge-Abbott into a range of soft furnishings using its SureColor inkjet printers. Every day during the show, which opened on Wednesday and closes on Saturday, the artist will show how easy it is to print cotton cushion covers using the Epson SureColor SC-F2000 direct-to-fabric printer.
